The city of Guwahati witnessed a landmark moment in February 2024 as thousands of passionate runners from all corners of India converged to participate in the inaugural edition of the Prerana IASOWA Guwahati Marathon. Organized by Paper Mache Pvt Ltd, with Prerana IASOWA as the title sponsor, the event marked a significant milestone in the city's sporting calendar.

 

Notably, this marathon stands as the first officially AIMS Certified event in the region, attaining global recognition for its standards and quality.

 

The event saw esteemed dignitaries gracing the occasion, adding to its prestige and grandeur. The Honorable Minister of Sports & Youth Welfare Assam, Nandita Garlosa, presided as the Chief Guest and flagged off the Joy Walk, while Chief Secretary of Assam Mr. Paban Borthakur, IAS commenced the 10K City Run. Director General of Police Mr. GP Singh, IPS flagged off the Half Marathon. Dr. Ravi Kota, IAS Chief Secretary Designate flagged off the Full Marathon, setting the stage for an exhilarating race ahead.
