02 Pre-Race Health Screening
Before registering, every participant should honestly assess their fitness to run. We strongly recommend consulting a physician before participating if you:
- Have not undergone a general health check-up in the past 12 months
- Are returning to running after an injury, surgery, or extended break
- Are registering for the Full or Half Marathon for the first time
- Have any pre-existing medical condition, including but not limited to cardiac, respiratory, or musculoskeletal conditions
Recommended: A basic medical fitness check-up (including blood pressure and cardiac screening) is advised for all Full and Half Marathon participants, particularly first-time runners of these distances.
03 Medical Information Disclosure
At registration, participants are required to share the following details to help our medical team respond quickly and appropriately in case of an emergency on race day:
- Date of birth (for category and age verification)
- Blood group
- Any existing medical conditions (e.g. asthma, cardiac conditions, diabetes, allergies)
- Emergency contact name and phone number
This information is used solely for participant safety and is shared only with authorized on-ground medical personnel in the event of a medical situation. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how this data is handled.
04 When Not To Participate
In the interest of your safety, we advise against participating (particularly in the Full Marathon and Half Marathon) if you have any of the following, unless you have been explicitly medically cleared by a physician to do so:
- A diagnosed heart condition or history of cardiac events
- Uncontrolled high blood pressure or diabetes
- Recent major surgery, fracture, or musculoskeletal injury that has not fully healed
- Any respiratory illness, fever, or infection in the days leading up to the event
- Pregnancy, without prior clearance from your doctor
Important: If you feel unwell, dizzy, or experience chest pain, breathlessness, or unusual fatigue at any point during the race, stop immediately and alert the nearest marshal or medical volunteer.
05 On-Course Medical Support
Medical support is provided as part of every registration across all categories, including:
- First-aid and medical stations positioned along the route
- A medical team stationed at the finish line
- Ambulance support on standby for emergencies
- Trained volunteers and marshals monitoring participant wellbeing throughout the course
06 Hydration & Heat Safety
Refreshment and hydration points are placed along the course for all timed categories. To run safely:
- Hydrate well in the days leading up to the race, not just on race morning
- Use the on-course refreshment stations regularly, even if you don't feel thirsty
- Avoid trying any new food, drink, or supplement for the first time on race day
- Wear breathable clothing suited to Guwahati's late-November weather
07 Emergency Protocols
In case of a medical emergency during the event, the on-ground medical team will use the emergency contact and medical details provided at registration to act quickly and, where necessary, to inform your designated emergency contact. Participants are advised to carry their race bib visibly at all times so medical volunteers can identify them and access relevant information immediately.
08 Race Day Recommendations
